This day comes after the US holiday of thanks giving, labelling the first day of the Christmas shopping season. It's believed that the name came from the mayhem caused for traffic police, when all the shoppers headed down to the city stores on the day after Thanksgiving.

Today, Black Friday is known as a huge sale event where all of the best brands and stores offer out massive discounts where you can save tones of money. Many use this event to stock up on much needed items, or gifts in time for Christmas.
